The Ridge ESG Expedition
April 2022
- Sustainable travel policy implemented to encourage booking transportation and accommodation with the least associated emissions.
- Joined ClimatePartner to begin measuring our carbon footprint by recording emissions across Scopes 1, 2, and 3.
March 2022
- Mental health ambassador from Health Assured delivered a mental health presentation to the team to raise awareness about mental health in the workplace.
- Employee Assistance Programme introduced to assist our team to deal with any personal problems that might adversely impact their health, well-being, or work performance.
June 2022
- Created our first ESG policy to ensure steps are taken within the company which promote sustainable business practises.
July 2022
- Philanthropy Day implemented to allow our team to take one paid day off work to volunteer in their community.
November 2022
- A review of our packaging materials was undertaken to confirm which materials are recyclable and non-recyclable. Where materials are non-recyclable, we began to encourage our suppliers to implement recyclable materials, where possible.
2017
- Ridge Pharma Founded, the expedition starts!
February 2022
- Began our first team fundraiser to raise money for British Ukrainian Aid to support those affected by the war in Ukraine.
May 2023
- Organised our second fundraiser and helped raise money for Disasters Emergency Committee which organises aid for those affected by disasters like the Turkey-Syria Earthquakes.
August 2023
- Created a company newsletter to routinely update and connect our colleagues despite remote working.
February 2024
- Instituted a cycle-to-work scheme to encourage sustainable travel and physical and mental well-being of our employees.
March 2024
- Elected our first female board member, Tasmin Morgan, fostering diversity in our leadership positions.
- Organised our third fundraiser in aid of Catch22 to support care-experienced young people.
June 2023
- Internship programme introduced, welcoming our first set of university students to gain pharmaceutical industry experience in their fields of interest.
December 2022
- Created an employee engagement survey to regularly ask our team to provide feedback so we can identify areas for improvement, aiming to increase employee satisfaction.
April 2024
- Published our Carbon Reduction Plan and commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.
- Developed an ESG questionnaire and scoring system for suppliers to assure our partners share the same values as we do.
October 2024
- Introduced an Electric Vehicle car scheme for employees to lease EVs for both personal and business use. Employees now have a cost-efficient way to lease electric cars which will in turn reduce our carbon emissions.
